Province and the City of Iloilo:Under the State of Calamity

The Province and the city of Iloilo were declared under the state of calamity as the death toll and reports of damage brought by typhoon "Frank" (international codename: Fengshen) in Western Visayas continued to rise.The officials in these areas have sought relief assistance,
such as ready-to-eat food, potable
water and dry clothes, as evacuees reached hundreds of thousands.

Last Friday, the crisis management monitored the water level at Jaro River reaching 5.8 meters. The critical level was set at 2.5 meters.

The Iloilo provincial disaster coordinating council reported that the flooding displaced over almost 353,000 persons in various towns.There were 797 barangays flooded, 97,491 families affected ,17,915 houses totally damaged while 12,159 are partially damaged both the province and city of Iloilo.

Iloilo Governor Neil Tupas Sr. estimated the damage to infrastructure reaching P500 million.On the other hand, Vice Governor Rolex Suplico estimated the damages on agriculture sector at P1 billion.A dam in the municipality of San Miguel was heavily damaged. Kamandag Elementary School in the municipality of Leon was damaged due to landslide. Many bridges were destroyed and impassable to transportation vehicles like the
Maribong and Misi Bridge of Lambunao, Tigum and Imelda Bridge of Cabatuan, Binanua-an Bridge that connects Guimbal and Tigbauan, Camanggahan Bridge of Guimbal, Presidential Bridge and Gines Malambay Bridge in Alimodian, Buyo Bridge in Sta. Barbara, Parara Bridge in Tigbauan and three major hanging bridges in Maasin.

The Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council reported 135 deaths,117 remain missing and 29 others were injured.
